Swell de Spirits WIRD 1996 #
Dieser Rum wurde 1996 von der West Indies Rum Distillery (WIRD) aus Melasse auf Barbados hergestellt.Er reifte für 27 Jahre in einem recycelten Fass aus Amerikanischer Weißeiche und wurde 2023 (02/2023) in Fassstärke mit 61.90% abgefüllt. Für die Destillation wurde sowohl eine Column als auch eine Pot Still verwendet.
Tasting Notes von Swell des Spirits
Colour: Apple Juice
Nose: Rubbery funk, bouquet of roses, milk chocolate covered hazelnuts, extra juicy peaches with cream and honey, hard fruit candy, popcorn, vanilla fudge, toasted brioche with blackcurrant jam and lemon curd, plus fresh satin sheets and a stable full of hay.
On the palate: Wonderfully buttery with mint chocolate chip ice cream, white vanilla chocolate fudge, lemon pie, champagne, hay, anise twists, clove balls, clove, licorice stick, freshly printed magazine covers and herbal notes. It's like an exotic whiskey!
Finish: Good spicy length with vanilla caramel and cinnamon pastries dipped in spicy hot chocolate.
Conclusion: Funk, spice and all things pleasant, a beautifully balanced whole that will also appeal to lovers of old grains and exotic Whisky.
