L'Encantada Domaine Cutxan 2006 #T36
It is with great pleasure that we can present you our first exclusive L'Encantada Single Cask for Germany: Domaine Cutxan 2006 #T36 with 51.2%, strictly limited to 270 0.5l bottles and 10 1.5l Magnum bottles . Casks #T36 and #T37 (which was chosen for Grape of the Art) were by far the two favorites out of 12 Cutxan cask samples. We are all the more pleased that we were able to secure both barrels for Germany!
Domaine Cutxan is a small family-run domaine that sold its entire cask inventory to L'Encantada last year. Interestingly, Cutxan offers two very different styles: the elegant and smooth 90s and the more powerful and fruity 2000s. You can certainly guess which one we liked better!
This Armagnac was made in 2006 by Domaine Cutxan from Baco grapes in Bas Armagnac, France.
It matured for 15 years in cask T36 in a humid warehouse and was bottled in 2022 (07/2022) at cask strength with 51.2% . An Alambic Armagnacais (Column Still) was used for the distillation.
The total capacity of the barrel was approx. 360L, of which we filled the first 270 + 10 bottles in July. The rest of the Armagnac is allowed to mature for a few more years and will probably be bottled for the first major anniversary of Armagnac.de.
