Dieser Armagnac wurde 1974 von Aurian aus Baco und Ugni Blanc Trauben in Bas Armagnac, Frankreich hergestellt.

Er reifte für 48 Jahre in einem feuchten Lagerhaus und wurde 2023 (05/2023) für den Wu Dram Clan in Fassstärke mit 49.40% abgefüllt. Für die Destillation wurde eine Alambic Armagnacais (Column Still) verwendet.

Wu Dram Clan schreibt zu diesem besonderen Fassexperiment: "The 1974 is from typical Bas Armagnac soils in the Village Le Frêche, Landes (but an assemblage of two parcels from different places there). It is made of Baco and Ugni blanc (about 1/3 and 2/3).
In march 2020 we decided to make a very special finish for this guy.

From barrel #71, where it has spend its 45 years life, we moved it two months to barrel #101 which was brand new. Then it aged for ten months in a very old barrel, before leaving it six months in another brand new barrel #501. We let it to rest in barrel #44 until June 2023 when it was bottled!

This kind of reverse ageing is very particular and never seen before. It has resulted in a 36% loss in 3 years! Oaky and dark fruits, the resulting cocktail is truly one of a kind!"
